FIELD: removal and processing of solid wastes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to decontamination of solid municipal waste (SMW) storage sites by collection and removal of biogas for its further use. Method comprises installation of load-carrying horizontal gas-transporting lines in the polygon body consisting of pipes and connecting tees therebetween, covered from above with polyethylene sleeves, with fixed in T-pieces freely suspended vertical perforated gas-collecting pipes located at distance of 3–6 m from each other. Horizontal gas-collecting pipes are connected to gas-collecting pipe, which supplies gas to main line for transportation of gas to point of use. All elements of the gas collection system are made of plastic. Multilayer sealing layer is made from above gas collection system. During removal of collected biogas, moisture removal is carried out, after which the pumped biogas is supplied to a distribution header, then to electric and heat energy generation devices and a methane preparation and compression device, and excess gas is burnt in a burner device.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of reliability and efficiency of the biogas collection system with simplification of design, reduction of harmful effect on environment due to reduced emissions of biogas to atmosphere and removal of biogas for recycling.
