FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determination of user location based on locations of other users. Information on first user location includes first centroid and first radius associated with first user position, and second user location information includes second centroid and second radius associated with second user position. Second user is further associated with second user location information. Degree of correlation of points between the first user and the second user is determined based on the overlap between the radius of the first user and the radius of the second user and the social metric indicating the strength of the social relationship between the first user and the second user. Information on the location for the first user is created based on information on the location of the second user, when the evaluation of the relationship exceeds a certain threshold value.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy of tracking location of individual user by attracting social network user and achieved by receiving information on location of first user and information on location of second user.
