DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION USING COMBINED SINGLE-PHOTON EMISSION AND X-RAY COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B6/03 A61K51/00 A61P43/00

Abstract RU 2701362 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to clinical cardiology and radiation diagnostics, and can be used for diagnosing acute myocardial infarction (AMI) by combined single-photon emission and X-ray computed tomography (SECT/CT). SECT is performed with radiopharmaceutical 99mTc-pyrophosphate (RF). CT is performed in low-dose or diagnostic mode. Projections are recorded 60-90 minutes after RF introduction. SECT mode includes number of projections – 32, 64×64 pixels matrix, recording time of one projection is 30 seconds. Projections are reconstructed to obtain tomographic images using the OSEM iterative algorithm. A simultaneous joint analysis of the SECT data and CT data is carried out, wherein the SECT data are used to construct the axial images, and the CT data are used as an anatomical reference point, which enables to separate the myocardium from the ventricular cavity. Using the SECT data, the acute myocardial injury area is defined as the RF accumulation area visually limited from the surrounding tissues, and the CT data are used to locate the acute myocardial infarction focus.

EFFECT: invention provides higher sensitivity and diagnostic accuracy in detecting acute myocardial infarction.
