FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines of vehicles containing branched exhaust manifold. Method for engine (10) is that exhaust gases are fed from first exhaust valve (E1) of all cylinders of first group of cylinders into first snout of gas turbine (92) with simultaneous supply of exhaust gases from first exhaust valve (E1) of all cylinders of second group of cylinders to second scroll of gas turbine (92). Exhaust gases from the second exhaust valve (E2) of all cylinders of the first and the second groups of cylinders are supplied to catalytic neutraliser (72) of exhaust gases bypassing gas turbine (92). In response to excess speed of rotation of gas turbine threshold speed of rotation selectively disconnected at least one first outlet valve (E1) of at least one cylinder selected from first and second groups of cylinders. Embodiment of the method for the engine and an engine system are disclosed.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of energy losses in exhaust manifold of engine and in control of turbine rpm in wide range of engine operation parameters.
