SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Method of obtaining motion vector predictor candidates for a decoding unit in a video frame to be decoded, wherein the number of time predictors of the motion vector, which can be obtained as candidates, is equal to one, and the number of spatial predictors, which can be obtained as candidates, is at least one, wherein the method comprises a step of obtaining, if possible, as one temporal predictor of the motion vector, a motion vector associated with the position in the reference frame, wherein said position is identically located with the position of the neighboring block and located near the lower right position of said decoding unit in the video frame to be decoded.
EFFECT: high efficiency of encoding combined with reduced requirement for memory of motion vectors.
