SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of encoding video. Encoding method comprises obtaining a target number of motion information predictors to be used for a coded image section, and generating a set of motion information predictors using the obtained target quantity. Set is generated by means of: obtaining first set of movement information predictors, wherein each is connected to image area, having predetermined spatial and/or time ratio with coded image area; modifying a first set of motion information predictors by removing duplicated motion information predictors to obtain a reduced set of motion information predictors comprising a first number of motion information predictors.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of video encoding.
