SUBSTANCE: decoding method relates to digital signal processing, particularly to video signal compression using motion compensation to reduce spatial and temporal redundancies in video streams. Bit video stream is a sequence of digital images encoded using interpredictions. Method of decoding involves generating a set of motion vector predictors comprising one motion vector predictor from one or more potential motion vector predictors for inclusion in a generated set, wherein each potential motion vector predictor relates to an image portion having a predetermined spatial relationship with the decoded image portion, wherein potential motion vector predictor comprises one or more duplicates.
EFFECT: technical result is high efficiency of decoding in case of bit stream damage due to losses during transmission.
