FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to digital signal processing, in particular to video signal compression using motion compensation to reduce spatial and temporal redundancies in video streams. Method comprises decoding motion information using motion information prediction process, comprising obtaining one or more actual motion information predictors, if the number of obtained motion information predictors is less than the target amount, one or more motion information predictors are added to generate a motion information predictor set until, until the number of motion information predictors becomes equal to the target amount if the number of predictors after the first addition process is less than the target value, performing the second process of adding one or more virtual motion information predictors, determining the motion information predictor from the generated motion information predictors set for the decoded image area.
EFFECT: high decoding efficiency in case of bit stream damage due to transmission losses.
