FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 2,3-dialkyl-N-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline-4-amines by reacting aniline with aldehydes in the presence of a catalyst, characterized in that the catalyst used is zeolite Y in H form, reaction of aniline with aliphatic aldehyde (propionic, butyric or valeric) is carried out in a flow reactor with a fixed catalyst bed at 250–350 °C, raw material feed rate volume of 2–10 h-1, at atmospheric pressure, nitrogen flow and molar ratio aniline : aldehyde 1:2.
EFFECT: novel simplified method of producing 2,3-dialkyl-N-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline-4-amines, which enables to reduce energy and material consumption of the heterocyclisation process.
