FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention describes a method of producing 2,3-dialkylquinolines by reacting aniline with aldehydes in the presence of a zeolite based catalyst, method is characterized by that catalyst used is zeolite Y in H-form, reaction of aniline with aliphatic aldehydes (propionic or oily) is carried out in presence of 10–20 wt% catalyst, in molar ratio of aniline:aldehyde = 1:1–2, in autoclave at 70–160 °C for 6 hours, in a solution of chlorobenzene.
EFFECT: method simplifies synthesis of quinoline derivatives and reduces energy and material consumption of the heterocyclisation process.
