FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production and operation of abrasive tools on ceramic binder, namely abrasive wheels, and can be used in their impregnation. Method involves impregnation of a tool in a container with an aqueous solution containing 20–25 g of chromium diiodide per liter of water, and its convective drying during rotation at rate of 0.3–0.5 s-1 for 1.5–2 hours at temperature of 40–50 °C. Impregnated tool is imparted for one minute with vertical oscillations at frequency v=1.5–2 Hz and amplitude A=(2.3–2.5)V, where V is the height of the abrasive tool. Impregnation is carried out by way of its complete dipping in said aqueous solution and complete removal from it.
EFFECT: higher strength of contact interaction between ceramic binder and abrasive grains of the tool while ensuring impregnation process safety.
