FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system for medical intervention with image monitoring. Image monitoring system configured to support combined biopsy and treatment procedures using image control to deliver a needle from a certain specific location to a given final location in the analysed subject, wherein the image monitoring system comprises a medical imaging system configured to obtain medical images of the analysed region in the analysed subject, wherein the medical images are used to determine the current position of a given end location, a needle guidance system configured to set the needle position in space and thereby monitor a given location and configured to guide the biopsy needle and the needle for treatment in the region of interest, a calibration unit for determining calibration parameters and thereby matching a needle guidance system with medical images prior to biopsy, a user interface system configured to support and perform a biopsy procedure, and a treatment procedure such that the patient is placed only once for both procedures. Image control system is further configured to automatically use the calibration parameters determined before the biopsy procedure during treatment.
EFFECT: using the invention enables improving the clinical processes related to the cancer disease.
