FIELD: hydraulic engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydraulic engineering and can be used to absorb a water flow in end devices of closed pipelines and tunnel culverts. Water flow energy absorber includes supply pressure water conduit 1, annular partition 3, bottom of which is made with conical spreader 4 with hole in its lower part. Vertical chamber 2 is made in the form of a closed shell. Bypass openings 5 of annular partition 3 are installed perpendicularly towards housing of shell 2. Movable annular partition 3 with conical spreader 4 is located between guides 8 fixed to side walls of housing of shell 2. Transverse annular partitions 9 with aprons 10 are installed in lower part of working chamber 2, and annular partitions 11 with shields 12 are installed in upper part of working chamber 2 in front of cover 7. Movable annular partition 3 with spreader 4 is configured to adjust displacement height relative to outlet port of pressure water line 1. Vertical chamber 2 in upper part is equipped with bypass (outlet) window 13 arranged at level coinciding with mark of bottom of outlet chute 14, bottom of which is connected to outlet pipeline 15 with controlled gate valve 16. Water supplied to vertical chamber 2 is split (separated) into separate parts, and direction of water movement depends on position, in which there is movable annular partition 3 with conical spreader 4, which presses outlet flow above outlet hole of pressure water conduit 1. Flow over the height of working chamber 2 loses energy and is calmed before outlet window 13, after which it enters discharge tray 14.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and reliability of the process of intensive absorbing of kinetic energy of the separated flow and further connection in the middle part of the working chamber, further the flow additionally separated in the upper part before the outlet opening enters the discharge tray.
