FIELD: hydraulic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydraulic engineering and can be used to damping the energy of a water stream in terminal devices of closed pipelines and tunnel culverts. Energy damper comprises underwater pipe, chamber of truncated cone chamber, impeller to create flow rotation in chamber and direction to outlet hole and into perforated cylinder. Due to the cone shape of the housing of the chamber, circumferential velocity and centrifugal force increase, which causes upward flow upwards under the cover. Due to the hole and the reflector, an additional chamber is filled with water with water at the same time flowing through the perforated holes of the vertical branch pipe with outlets under the cover. Additional chamber installed coaxially in the zone of the outlet hole in the upper part of the truncated cone of the chamber is equipped with an outlet opening with a discharge tray. At the bottom level of the additional chamber, the tray bottom is connected to the discharge pipeline with the control valve.
EFFECT: reduction of material consumption, simplification of damper design, reduction of flow rate and its damping.
