FIELD: hydraulic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydraulic engineering and can be used to annihilate a water flow in end devices of closed pipelines and tunnel culverts. Water flow energy damper comprises feed water conduit 1. Vertical chamber 2 is made in the form of closed cup with partitions 3 and 8 consisting of separate flaps 4 and 9 installed on axles 5 and 10 with possibility of rotation. Rotation of flaps 4 and 9 allows filling vertical chamber 2. At the same time flaps 4 in partition 3 are arranged in such a sequence that they are turned in one direction, for example to the left, at an angle, and flaps 9 in partition 8 are made - opposite, for example to the right, at an angle. Vertical chamber 2 in upper part is equipped with bypass (outlet) opening 6 installed at level coinciding with mark of bottom of discharge chute 7, bottom of which is connected with outlet pipeline 12 with controlled gate valve 13. Water supplied to vertical chamber 2 is split (divided) into separate parts, and direction of water movement depends on the position of rotary leaflets 4 and 9, pressing the outlet at an angle flow above partitions 3 and 8 with outlets upwards under cover 7 of shell 2. Flow along height of working chamber 2 loses energy and settles downstream outlet opening 6, after which it enters outlet trough 7.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency and reliability of process of intensive damping of kinetic energy of separated flow and subsequent connection in each section by height of working chamber, then flow, additionally separated by upper partition with rotary flaps, opposite directed immediately before outlet opening, enters discharge flap.
