FIELD: hydraulic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the hydraulic equipment and can be used for the water flow quenching downstream the pressure water lines in the hydraulic stilling basin. Water flow energy damper includes horizontal section of water conduit 1, vertical branch pipe 2 and well 12. Well 12 has inlet vertical hollow tube 4 with fairing 7 made cone-shaped with concave side walls 8 on outer side of pipe 4, coaxial to which is installed second fairing 9, top 10 of which is directed towards annular horizontal flange 11. Damper is additionally equipped with diffuser section 17, forming clamp 14 between divergent chamber 16 and an outlet into lower part 15 of well 12. Swirler 3 is arranged at the inlet of diffusion section 17 of damping chamber 16 and made in the form of blades. Annular horizontal flange 11 with an annular gap is fixed in hydraulic stilling basin 12 below fairing 9 in the form of a truncated cone with top 10 and is located above the outlet hole of discharge pipeline 13.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of operation on the way of non-stationary flow of liquid due to local collisions of pulsating water flow towards hydraulic stilling basin, simplification of design and reduction of bottom speeds in flow.
