FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a propylene heterophasic copolymer (HECO) and a polyolefin composition containing the same, used to produce articles for the automotive industry. Propylene heterophasic copolymer contains from 60 to 66 wt% propylene homopolymer (HPP) with melt flow rate MFR2 (230 °C) in range of 230 to 350 g/10 min and 34 to 40 wt% of an elastomeric propylene-ethylene copolymer. Propylene heterophasic copolymer has a melt flow rate MFR2 (230 °C) from 15 to 35 g/10 min, and also contains in amount of 34 to 40 wt% fraction, soluble in cold xylene (XCS), which has characteristic viscosity (IV) in range from 2.8 to 3.8 dl/g and ethylene content (EC) from 25 up to 35 wt%.
EFFECT: propylene heterophasic copolymer according to the invention has good fluidity in combination with an excellent stiffness/strength balance at a temperature below room temperature.
