FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a low-temperature regeneration method in a wet air oxidation system. Method comprises directing a feed stream containing spent coal and a certain amount of contaminant forming deposit, through a heat exchanger to a wet air oxidation unit for regenerating spent coal, adding an oxidant to the feed stream, carrying out the wet air oxidation of a portion of the feed stream in the wet air oxidation unit to obtain a treated material containing the regenerated coal material, and exhaust gas containing residual oxygen in concentration from approximately 5 % to approximately 15 % by volume, and direction of treated material from oxidation plant with moist air through heat exchanger. Heat treated material is used to heat feed stream in heat exchanger. Oxidation with moist air is carried out at a temperature of about 200 °C or less with residence time of at least about 1 hour.
EFFECT: invention prevents formation of deposits when processing material in a wet air oxidation system.
