FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to contact roller welding and can be used in application of coatings from copper and alloys based on it on parts from carbon steels. Bimetal coating is obtained by electric contact welding of the multilayer additive containing the lower layer from the steel mesh, and the upper layers are made of copper grids, besides, all layers of meshes are additionally interlaced through their lumens. Lower layer of mesh from low-carbon steel is welded to steel part, and upper layers of meshes from copper or copper-based alloys are with mechanically fastened part. Strength of formed bimetallic coating is sufficient for its further machining. Thickness of metal coating is controlled by number of layers of additive meshes and their surface density.

EFFECT: disclosed is an additive for electrocontact welding.
