FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmentally friendly (biodegradable) low-temperature lubricants and can be used in friction assemblies of machines and mechanisms in conditions of Far North, at ambient temperatures of up to minus 50 °C. Described biodegradable low-temperature plastic grease contains, wt%: polyurea-based thickener based on diurea – 8–20, second thickener – nanofibrillar cellulose with average diameter of fibrils from 10 to 700 nm and degree of crystallinity of not less than 45 %, length of up to 1 mcm – 0.05–5, ester oil – balance. Content of base oil in lubricant composition is not less than 75 wt% and sizes of particles of polyurea thickener do not exceed 50 mcm. Also disclosed is a method of producing said lubricant, involving dissolving an aliphatic amine containing 16 to 19 carbon atoms in basic ester oil. Amine solution is mixed with solution of nanofibrillar cellulose in base ester oil, obtained by successive replacement of solvents with reduction of their polarity and subsequent ultrasonic treatment for 2–3 minutes. Then solution is added to obtained solution 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate in basic ester oil. Components are mixed at a rate of not less than 100 s-1 for 20 minutes and more and heated to 80–100 °C to form a polyurea based diurea.
EFFECT: high frost resistance of the biodegradable grease.
