FIELD: chemistry; technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing biodegradable low-temperature grease by introducing organomodified clay and microcrystalline cellulose into ester oil to obtain an initial mixture of components and stirring at room temperature. Method is characterized by that organomodified clay used is montmorillonite modified with quaternary ammonium salts, at least one of substitutes of which consists of at least 12 carbon atoms, initial mixture of components is first mixed for 3–10 minutes, heated to 150–250 °C, held at the achieved temperature for 20–60 minutes, without allowing mixture to cool, it is mixed at the rotary mixer at the rotor rotation speed of 10,000–30,000 rpm during 5–30 minutes, then the mixture is cooled and grease is obtained at the following ratio of components, wt%: microcrystalline cellulose 5–25; organomodified clay 3–9; ester oil – balance. At that, more than 95–99 vol%. composition of lubricant contains particles, the size of which does not exceed 55–100 nm.
EFFECT: reduced coefficient of friction, as well as increased biodegradability up to 80,1 % as compared to 60,8 % by prototype.
