FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lubricants and more specifically to biodegradable plastic lubricants used in friction assemblies of different machines or mechanisms operated in low temperature conditions. Disclosed is a new method of producing a biodegradable low-temperature grease based on triethyl citrate and a thickener - dispersion of amorphous nanocellulose in an aqueous medium. As a cellulose-based thickener, a dispersion is used, successively washed for removal of water first with acetone, and then - triethyl citrate, performing vacuum cleaning from residual acetone and water, diluted with triethyl citrate to the required consistency of lubrication and mixed at the following ratio of components, wt. %: cellulose - 1–15, triethyl citrate - the rest. According to the invention, triethyl citrate is used as a base oil, and cellulose dispersion is used as a thickener.
EFFECT: technical result is expansion of temperature range of application of biodegradable lubricant.
