QUICK-OPENING VENT VALVE FOR PHACO FLUIDICS ASPIRATION SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61F9/07 A61M39/22

Abstract RU 2705945 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: application of group of inventions refers to medicine. Surgical system of phacoemulsification comprises: an irrigation system configured to supply an irrigation fluid medium to a surgical site, and an aspiration system configured to aspirate the aspiration fluid from the surgical site. Aspiration system comprises: an aspiration channel for directing an aspiration fluid from a surgical site into a drainage hole for an aspiration fluid medium, as well as a cassette located in the aspiration channel. Cartridge comprises: a surface portion for interacting with a pump for passing an aspiration fluid medium through an aspiration channel into a drain hole for an aspiration fluid; an outlet channel connecting the aspiration channel with the outlet container bypassing the surface portion for interaction with the pump; valve chamber having a solid wall and a first hole in the solid wall, wherein the first opening has a first edge portion between the solid wall and the first opening; outlet valve located in the valve chamber and configured to selectively rotate between the open position and the closed position, wherein the outlet valve has a flow passage extending therethrough, wherein the flow passage has a second opening for selectively aligning with the solid wall in a closed position to prevent liquid flow therethrough and with the first opening in the open position to provide fluid flow through it, wherein the second outlet of the outlet valve has a second edge portion, complementary in shape to the first end portion of the valve chamber, wherein the first end portion of the valve chamber and the second end section of the outlet valve overlap each other as the exhaust valve moves from the closed position to the open position. One of the first edge portion and the second end portion has a convex shape, and the other of the first edge portion and the second end portion has a concave shape that complements the convex shape. Concave shape has radius of round shape. Second hole of the channel for passage of the flow has the shape of an hourglass, containing two concave sides of the hourglass shape.

EFFECT: using the given group of inventions enables eliminating abrupt pressure changes accompanying the occlusion breakthrough that may occur during the medical procedure.
