FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and represents a method for diagnosing a risk of thyroid functional disorder in indigenous small people – Komi and Nenets and local Caucasoid population – Russians living in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, in the period of increasing the daylight day duration, namely from February to April, including the blood test for mature individuals, namely men aged 22 to 60 years and women aged 21 to 55 years, the content of thyrotropic hormone (TTH), free thyroxine (fT4) and free triiodothyronine (fT3) and calculating, based on the obtained data, an integral thyroid index (ITI) by formula ITI=(fT3+fT4)/TTH and, when detecting deviation, in indigenous small peoples – Komi and Nenets of ITI from values of 6.3–13.0, and in local European population – Russian, living in this area, in at least 3 generations, ITI from values of 8.9–19.6 indicates a risk of functional disorders of the thyroid.
EFFECT: invention provides timely detection and correct interpretation of the obtained data depending on the age and ethnicity of the individuals being tested, which contributes to the preservation of the health of the able-bodied population of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
