SUBSTANCE: disclosed is an aerosol generating device (10) comprising a power supply unit (26), at least one heater (16) and cavity (14) for receiving aerosol-forming article (40). Device (10) additionally comprises first electrode (28) and second electrode (30) located at a distance from first electrode (28), so that at least a portion of aerosol-forming article (40) is placed between first electrode (28) and second electrode (30) when placing aerosol-forming article (40) inside cavity (14). Device (10) also comprises controller (24) for controlling supply of power from power supply unit (26) to said at least one heater (16) for heating aerosol-forming article (40) when placing said aerosol-forming article (40) inside cavity (14). Controller (24) is configured to complete power supply from power supply unit (26) to said at least one heater (16) in case the measured electric load between first electrode (28) and second electrode (30) exceeds a certain threshold.
EFFECT: disclosed is an aerosol generating device with electrodes for measuring electrical load.
