SUBSTANCE: invention discloses methods and systems for adjusting the amount of secondary fluid injected into the engine. In one example, the method may include adjusting the amount of secondary liquid injected into the engine cylinder based on the amount of injected secondary fluid calculated from output data of the oxygen sensor in the exhaust gases. For example, amount of injected secondary fluid can be determined based on first change in pumping current of oxygen sensor in exhaust gases between first and second reference voltage, when only fuel is injected into engine cylinder, and second change of pumping current of oxygen sensor in exhaust gases between first and second reference voltage, when fuel and secondary liquid are injected into engine cylinder.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of adjusting the amount of secondary fluid injected into the engine cylinder, reduced probability of detonation and formation of condensate in the engine.
