FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed are methods and systems for finding transport delay for individual cylinders associated with incorrect distribution of water between cylinders during a water injection event. Due to differences in detonation intensity between separate cylinders after water injection, incorrect distribution of water is detected. Differences in value and moment of dilution effect in engine after injection of water into collector are detected by means of oxygen sensor in intake air and are taken into account to reduce inter-cylinder imbalance of water supply.
EFFECT: invention allows to enhance advantages of water injection to engine due to optimization of water distribution in cylinders and to improve engine performance.
