FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary ophthalmology, particularly to a method of treating complications of viral and bacterial keratoconjunctivitis in dogs and cats. Method is characterized by conducting corneal collagen (CCL) cross-linking by exposure to ultraviolet radiation of A range, delivered through a fiber-optic output of the laser device with interval of 7–10 days and increasing duration of exposure from 5 to 10 minutes. After each CCL session, and in between the procedures, an antibacterial preparation and keratoprotector 3 times a day are instilled in the conjunctival cavity, for total of 21 days.
EFFECT: use of the invention will make it possible to short-term suppuration of corneal melting, to reduce the diameter of ulcers and erosions.
