FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to food industry. Lighting system for lighting fruit and/or vegetables, comprising: lamp (8) for illuminating fruits and/or vegetables in equipment for storing food products, wherein the lamp is configured to provide this illumination with a first light output and a second light output, wherein first light output has higher intensity and at least spectrum shifted to red area relative to second light output; and controller (12) intended for lighting control by lamp control, wherein the controller is configured to apply lighting in a sequence comprising a period of darkness, followed by a first light output during a first period, and then follows a second light output during a second period. System for storing fruits and/or vegetables comprises: food storage equipment for storing fruits and/or vegetables, and a lighting system described above. Method of controlling lighting of fruits and/or vegetables using a storage system includes steps of applying lighting in a sequence comprising a period of darkness, followed by a first light output during a first period, and then follows second light output during second period. First light output has a higher intensity and at least a spectrum shifted into the red region relative to the second light output.
EFFECT: invention enables to achieve cyclic variations of intensity of various biological processes associated with day and night change for fruits and/or vegetables after harvesting.
