FIELD: hydraulic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the hydraulic equipment and can be used for the water flow quenching downstream the pressure water lines in the hydraulic stilling basin. Water flow energy damper includes horizontal section of water conduit 1, vertical branch pipe 2 and well 12. Well 12 has an inlet vertical telescopic tube made of multi-tier cascade rotating nozzles 3, 4, 5 equipped on the surface with additional cone-shaped bafflers 6, 7, 8, having along the surface generatrix longitudinal grooves. Rigidly fixed fairing 9 with apex 10 is made in the form of a truncated cone, top 10 of which is coaxially directed towards the outlet hole of the lower rotating branch pipe 5 with baffler 8. Rotating branch pipes have different diameter decreasing downwards towards fixed flow baffler 9 with top 10. Annular horizontal flange 11 with an annular gap is fixed in water cushion well 12 below baffler 9 in the form of a truncated cone with top 10 and is located above the outlet hole of discharge pipeline 13.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of operation on the way of non-stationary flow of liquid due to local collisions of rotating and pulsating water flow towards the water well shaft, simplification of design and lowering bottom flow rates in flow.
