FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to open-cell polymer materials based on semicrystalline polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). Mesoporous polymer materials based on PTFE with pore sizes of up to 10 nm are obtained by conducting uniaxial drawing of a stretched polymer article on the basis of PTFE both in contact with organic solvents and in air with subsequent heat fixing in isometric conditions, i.e. with fixed dimensions along the drawing direction, at elevated temperatures not exceeding the melting point of PTFE.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain efficient waterproofing, heat-insulating, gas- and vapor-permeable highly porous PTFE-based materials with high shape stability and thermal stability at temperatures of up to 250 °C, good mechanical characteristics and high chemical resistance to action of organic solvents, strong acids and alkalis.
