FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to surgical stapling and cutting tools and staples intended for use with them. Surgical stapling instrument system comprises a handle, a shaft assembly and a latch. Barrel assembly is detachably attached to handle. Barrel assembly comprises an end effector and a release mechanism. Release mechanism comprises a fixing element. Release mechanism is configured to move between a proximal position and a distal position. Fixing element engages with handle when release mechanism is in proximal position. Fixing element disengages from the handle when the release mechanism is in a distal position. Latch functionally interacts with release mechanism. Latch is configured to move between first position and second position. Release mechanism is configured to rotate the latch from the first position to the second position when the release mechanism moves towards the distal position. Latch includes a hook designed so that to enable engagement with the handle at movement of the latch towards the second position. Hook disengages from the handle after additional manipulations with the release mechanism, and additional manipulations are performed in the proximal direction. In a second embodiment, the surgical suturing instrument system comprises a handle and a shaft assembly. Handle contains the first release mechanism. Barrel assembly is detachably attached to handle. Shaft assembly comprises an end effector, a second release mechanism and a fixing limiter. Second release mechanism comprises a fixing element. Second release mechanism is configured to move between the first position and the second position. Fixing element engages with the handle when the second release mechanism is in the first position. Fixing element disengages from the handle when the second release mechanism is in the second position. Fixing limiter is configured to prevent movement of second release mechanism from first position to second position, until the first release mechanism on the handle and the second release mechanism on the barrel assembly are actuated simultaneously.
EFFECT: use of inventions enables tissue stapling and cutting.
