FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to surgical instruments and in various versions of implementation, to surgical stapling and cutting tools and staples intended for use with them. Surgical stapling instrument comprises a surgical end effector. Surgical end effector comprises a first branch and a second branch. Second jaw is movable relative to the first jaw for selective movement relative to it between the open position and closed positions. Surgical instrument further comprises a closure member, made with possibility of axial movement in response to application of closing and opening movements to it. Closing element comprises at least one opening cam extending therefrom, for engagement with possibility of movement with corresponding slotted curvilinear surface on second branch so that when applying opening movement to closing element, at least one opening cam engages with the corresponding slit curved surface to move the second branch into the open position, and when closing movement is applied to closing element, closing element is made with possibility of engagement with second branch for movement of second branch in one of closed positions. At least one opening cam comprises a first opening cam and a second opening cam. In a second embodiment, the surgical stapling instrument comprises a surgical end effector. Surgical end effector comprises a first branch and a second branch. Second jaw comprises first and second curved surfaces. Surgical instrument further comprises a closing sleeve of the end effector comprising a first opening cam and a second opening cam. In a third embodiment, the surgical stapling instrument comprises a body, a closure system, an elongated shaft assembly, a surgical end effector and at least two opening cams. Surgical end effector comprises an elongated canal and an anvil.
EFFECT: use of inventions enables prevention of damage to adjacent tissue and/or accumulation of tissue/fluid.
