FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used for differential diagnostics of lower jaw movements of myogenic and arthrogenic aetiology. Primary kinesiographic examination of lower jaw motions is performed. Maximum and average lowering and lifting lower jaw rates are measured, and in the sagittal plane measure the lower jaw lowering and lifting trajectories, the lower jaw travel distance along the diagonal, the lower jaw lower angle, the angle of the beginning of the movement "lowering" of the lower jaw, the angle of the end of the movement "lowering" of the lower jaw, angle of movement "lifting" the lower jaw, in frontal plane measure the trajectories of lower jaw lowering and lifting, lower jaw lowering distance along vertical, modular value of deviation. Said data are recorded and analyzed. If observing abnormalities, a transcutaneous electroneuro myostimulation (TENS) session of the trigeminal ganglions is prescribed, using the apparatus "MIO-STIM", Italy. Disposable, silver chloride electrodes are adhered to a patient in the area of a trigeminal nerve weave on the right and on the left with skin defatted with 70 % alcohol; active sensors are fixed on a plexus area, and the passive sensor is glued in the area of a posterior surface of a neck. Stimulation is transcutaneous. Exposure length is 15 minutes. If muscular spasm is eliminated, the obtained physiological position of the lower jaw is recorded by a doctor using a silicone impression material. That is followed by repeated kinesiographic examination of lower jaw motions as described above. If the volume of movements of the lower jaw does not change according to the kinesiographic data, then it indicates an arthrogenic character of morphological changes in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and the need for a further targeted examination of the TMJ. If the lower jaw movements are improved after the kinesiographic is completed, the leading role of the muscular component in developing lower jaw movement disorders is stated. In this case, further studies should be aimed at elucidation of the cause of muscular dysfunction and their elimination.
EFFECT: method facilitates differential diagnosis of violations of lower jaw motions by using TENS.
