SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of making an aerosol delivery device and an aerosol delivery device. Method for making an aerosol delivery device for heating smoking material for evaporation of at least one component of said material includes steps of, on which a heating appliance is used to heat the smoking material placed when used in the device, the heating appliance comprising at least one first heating zone and at least one second heating zone for heating different sections of smoking material; providing presence of temperature sensors for each heating zone, wherein each temperature sensor is configured to supply measurement results to the corresponding temperature control loop, wherein each control loop is configured to control the heating device based on the measured temperature, supplied to its input from the corresponding sensor, for heating the corresponding heating zone to a predetermined temperature; and each temperature sensor is placed in a corresponding heating zone in a position selected so that if the heating appliance is to heat the first and second heating zones, and temperature sensors measure the same preselected preset temperature, temperature change over the length of heating zones between temperature sensors will be optimized, being substantially constant.
