FIELD: ice-technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ice-technical equipment, particularly to performance of icebreaking works by air-cushion ships. Disclosed is a method for destruction of ice cover, which consists in progressive simultaneous movement of two identical by technical characteristics of ships front with resonant speed. Simultaneously with translational displacement in the selected direction in parallel course, ships are imparted rolling pitch in antiphase relative to each other, but with the same frequency equal to frequency of resonant flexural-gravity waves.
EFFECT: enabling increase in the ice cover destruction efficiency.
