FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and can be used for expansion of frequency band for evaluation of signal spectra. Method of spreading the signal spectra of the signal spectra includes steps of in-phase division of the signal into a first and a second amplitude-equal part, analog-to-digital conversion of the first and second signals on two ADCs operating at one clock frequency, calculating the amplitude spectrum of the first and second signals. First signal before analogue-to-digital conversion is subjected to amplitude correction with ascending frequency AFC, and the second signal is subjected to amplitude correction with frequency-decreasing amplitude-frequency characteristic. In order to resolve ambiguity occurring when sub-sampling an input signal, maximums of spectral components coinciding in frequency position are compared.

EFFECT: reduced computational redundancy.
