FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement technology, it can be used for quick measurement of the frequency of continuous microwave signals in a wide frequency range. The method of broadband measurement of the frequency of a microwave signal consists in amplifying-limiting the input signal, bandpass filtering of the signal, in-phase division of the signal into two parts, delay of the first part of the signal in the delay line, phase detection of the delayed and non-delayed signal in the phase detector, processing the voltage from the phase detector in a computing device. In this case, the first part of the signal after being fed to the delay line and the second part of the signal before being fed to the phase detector are multiplied in frequency by the same known number of times.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of the requirements for the delay line bandwidth while maintaining the frequency resolution and measurement accuracy.
