METHOD OF DETERMINING INDICATIONS FOR BALLOON OCCLUSION OF TRACHEA IN FOETUS LUNG HYPOPLASIA Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B8/08 A61B5/55 A61B17/94

Abstract RU 2710325 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to obstetrics, and can be used to determine indications for balloon occlusion of trachea in fetal lung hypoplasia. An ultrasonic examination (US) is performed, wherein the lung area to the head circumference (LHR) is determined, the gestation period is determined. Additionally, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is performed, during which total fetal lung volume (TFLV), presence of liver in the fetus's chest is determined. If liver is present in the fetus's chest, 1 point is assigned, if the LHR value is less than 1.0, the gestation period of 18–21 weeks is 2 points, while the TFLV of less than 69.3 % of the standard TFLV values on the gestation period of 25–26 weeks is assigned 3 points . Summarizing the points. If the total score is 3 to 6, the conclusion is that there are indications for the balloon occlusion of the fetus trachea.

EFFECT: method provides determining the indications for intrauterine intervention - balloon occlusion of fetus trachea - due to diagnostic factors determined by two diagnostic methods - ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging.
