SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and systems for detecting misfiring in an internal combustion engine. In one example, the method may include discretisation of fluctuations of the crankshaft in overlapping first and second discretisation windows and detection of misfiring according to sampled signals. Method may also include adjusting the engine according to the misfire detection indication generated by the control unit.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reliable detection of misfiring in various operating conditions of engine at different engine crankshaft rotation frequency.
