FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the machine building. Exhaust gas recirculation system for engine (2) of vehicle (1) comprises exhaust gas recirculation channel connecting exhaust hole for outlet of exhaust gases with hole (9) for engine air intake (2). Exhaust gas recirculation valve (6) comprises an electric drive installed on valve body (6) and a shutter configured to be actuated by an electric drive to control the exhaust gas flow through the exhaust gas recirculation channel. Electronic controller (20) is designed to control opening and closing of exhaust gas recirculation valve shutter during normal operation of engine (2) and to control exhaust gas recirculation valve (6) for performing at least one cleaning operation of valve (6) for removing deposits from valve (6) when engine (2) does not work. Electronic controller (20) is additionally configured to delay execution of at least one cleaning operation of valve (6), following engine shutdown, to enable cooling of valve (6). Also disclosed are an automotive vehicle and a method of cleaning an exhaust gas recirculation valve.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of probability of valve element jamming.
