SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a motor with an exhaust system comprising a particulate filter. Disclosed are a system and methods for coordinating regeneration of a petrol particulate filter with a period during which engine power falls below a predetermined load threshold value to indicate low engine power state. In one specific example, engine is configured to adjust engine operation to regenerate particulate filter in response to engine power drop below predetermined lower power threshold, regeneration, further based on estimated period, during which power constantly falls below lower threshold power value. Disclosed system and methods provide an advantage, which is possibility of performing events of full or partial regeneration based on evaluation period, during which engine capacity is lower than lower threshold power value.
EFFECT: technical result is improved regeneration of the particulate filter.
