FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of machine building, namely to gear transmissions, and is intended to provide high wear resistance of gearing, allows increasing durability of gear transmissions. Disclosed is a method for chemical heat treatment in a glow discharge plasma of a gear wheel component, comprising loading gear wheels into a vacuum chamber, pumping air, performing ion cleaning in a gaseous medium, feeding reaction gas and ion nitriding, characterized by that air is pumped to pressure of 10 Pa, then vacuum chamber is blown with argon for 2–5 minutes at pressure of 1,330 Pa, followed by its pumping to pressure of 5–15 Pa and ion cleaning at voltage of 900–1,000 V for 5–7 minutes in gas plasma of high-density inert gas in crossed electric and magnetic fields, after which voltage is lowered to operating value, argon is pumped from vacuum chamber, working gas is forced and ion nitriding is carried out in high-density plasma in crossed electric and magnetic fields, then gear wheel is cooled in vacuum with constant pumping argon at pressure of 10–15 Pa during first 15 minutes.
EFFECT: higher wear resistance of gear wheel part.
