FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gas-discharge equipment and can be used in designing high-voltage devices, for example dischargers-peakers with subnanosecond switching for use in powerful portable generators of high-voltage pulses with rise time less than 0.5 ns. The gas-filled discharge device has a shell consisting of a metal case in form of a cylindrical body inside of which there is an insulator in form of a hollow flattened cone, two coaxial electrodes, one of which if mounted on the inner surface of the bottom of the cylindrical body, and the second on the end face of the smaller base of the insulator, inside of which passes the axial lead of the second electrode. An additional volume is formed in the discharger, bounded by the bottom of the cylindrical body and the extension of its cylindrical part beyond the bottom of the cylindrical body, in which there is a second insulator in form of a hollow flattened cone with a large base, joined to the edges of the extension of the cylindrical part of the body and the smaller facing inside the volume. The axial lead of the second electrode is galvanically connected to the second axial lead inside the insulator through an opening at the bottom of the cylindrical body by wires, each of which passes through the opening, forming a gap which provides electric strength of the discharger.
EFFECT: design of a gas-filled discharger with separate input and output, used for generating high-voltage pulses with subnanosecond front (less than 1 ns).
