SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to side mirror of vehicle rear view. System for detecting position of vehicle mirror includes electronic control unit (ECU), which includes processor and memory, and instructions stored in memory and executed by processor. Electronic control unit is programmed to receive the first image from the camera on the vehicle mirror, identify the characteristics of the first image, receive the second image from the camera on the vehicle mirror, compare characteristics of first image with characteristics of second image and determine on base, whether comparison indicates a predetermined difference between first image characteristics and second image characteristics, whether the vehicle mirror moves from the first position to the second position. Second position is one of unfolded and unfolded position.
EFFECT: higher safety of vehicle driving is achieved.
