SUBSTANCE: invention relates generally to methods, systems and apparatus for automated driving or assistance in driving and, in particular, to identifying and determining location and navigation with respect to devices for receiving enclosing columns. Device identification system for receiving guard strips comprises a perception data component for receiving perception data from a vehicle perception sensor, a location component for determining the location of the device for receiving shielding pillars with respect to the body of the vehicle based on the perception data and a motion manoeuvre component for determining a motion manoeuvre based on the location of the device for receiving the shielding columns. Location is determined when the corresponding barrier is removed from the device for receiving barrier strips. At that, the movement manoeuvre makes the vehicle tires hit the device to receive the barrier pillars by the tire tread so that the tire sidewall does not bump against the device for receiving barrier strips.

EFFECT: higher safety during vehicle operation.
