FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to versions of a system and a method for selective collection of effluents. System comprises a flow cell through which multiple reagents are pumped during the genetic sequencing operation; drain line, which during operation withdraws used reagent; a used reagent valve for receiving the spent reagent from the waste line, configured to control one of the plurality of drain channels for the used reagent; and a control circuit connected to the used reagent valve and during operation controlling said valve of the used reagent to select one of the drain channels required depending on which reagent is pumped through the flow cell.
EFFECT: high quality of sequencing and high throughput.
