FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of ceramic articles withstanding high temperatures, multiple heating and cooling, and can be used in various industries during production of lining of thermal units, installation ammunition (saggers, floating bridges, and so forth), for use in chimneys and ventilation ducts, as well as in making bricks and tiles for finishing walls and floors in boiler rooms, furnaces and stoves for industrial and domestic purposes. Articles of heat-resistant ceramics are made of the following components, in wt. %: alumina from 55 to 70; scrap sheet window glass from 30 to 45, at moulding moisture content of 16 wt. %, pressing pressure of 25 MPa and roasting at maximum temperature in range of 1200 to 1300 °C. At firing temperatures higher than 1250 °C and content of sheet window glass in an amount of more than 40 wt. %, surface self-glazing and vitrification in the volume of articles is observed, which considerably strengthens the obtained articles and reduces their overall and open porosity.
EFFECT: technical result of invention is high compression strength, reduced open porosity and burning temperature while maintaining heat resistance of articles at prototype level.
