GAS EXCHANGE FILTER WITH FLAME ARRESTOR AND EXPLOSION PROTECTION FUNCTION Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A62C4/00 G12B17/08 

FIELD: protective devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to industrial devices intended for use in the design of explosion-proof gas analyzers and sensors and can be used for protection of gas sensors against dust, turbulent gas flows, as well as a flame arrestor and an explosion protection element. Filter consists of housing 1, two external perforated discs 2, inner disc 3 and fine mesh screen 4 (made of brass or stainless steel), laid between discs. Holes in discs are made so that when discs are overlapped holes are excluded, body is made in form of nut with thread. Housing is screwed on steel tube containing gas sensor. During ignition of explosive gas mixture filter protects environment from penetration of combustion and explosion products beyond device containing gas sensor. In normal operation, the filter protects the gas sensor from dust and turbulent streams.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of explosion protection at maintaining speed of gas exchange required for normal operation of gas-sensitive sensors, reduction of impact dynamic loads on device protected measuring and monitoring equipment with preservation of its serviceability after fire and explosive action.
