SUBSTANCE: present invention refers to medicine, namely to physiology and space medicine, and concerns prevention of skeletal muscle atrophy at their functional unloading. To this end, an effective amount of compound VX 745 is introduced.

EFFECT: this compound, being a p38 MAPK phosphorylation inhibitor, reduces the expression level of MuRF-1 E3-ligase, ubiquitin and calpain-1 mRNA, which in turn provides effective prevention of skeletal muscle atrophy in hypokinesia or gravity unloading.
